You already have a location in mind you want to explore. That mutated researcher you had to kill, his lab is probably going to be abandoned until they can kidnap some other shmuck from the streets to fill the void. You faintly recall something the <span class="mu-b">Man</span> said to you nearly a week ago.
<span class="mu-s">Some mentally unstable researchers, he claims, believe that there's loot, power and glory to be found in abandoned parts of the facility.</span>
Worst case scenario, you can jack whatever shit he left behind. Best case scenario? Loot. Power. Glory. You're at the bottom of the totem pole here - You need whatever power you can get.
First, though, you need to check up with MEDBAY. You did deal with August, even if you didn't outright murder them like they asked. You take a deep breath to ground yourself. Okay. Time to act like a normal human, Vincent. You make your way over to MEDBAY.
You can already feel the difference in the air before you even step inside. You pop your head in to check up on the nurses. They're chittering and chattering with a fervorous energy you haven't seen in them before. The patients, who all looked like they were on death's door, are actually starting to recover.
The pile of useless garbage that was piled at the back of the room is gone. You can't make out anything specific but the shelves seem to be actually filled with various bottles of medicine.
Huh. There's five nurses in hazmat suits in here. You were pretty sure there were only three before.
One of the nurses spots you standing in the doorway. "Hey. C'mere." You hesitantly approach the group of nurses. They're all waiting with bated breath to hear what they probably already know.
"I dealt with August. He's not dead but he shouldn't be an issue anymore." The image of his severed fingers being presented to you still linger in the back of your mind. "He was, uh, 'reprimanded' by HR."
"Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you." One of the nurses mutters under her breath like she's praying to some god. "Holy shit, you don't understand how long he's been a pain in our ass."
"It...wasn't what we agreed on," One of the other nurses can't help to hide his disappointment, "but you dealt with our issue. We believe you deserve a reward."
"It won't be as much as we initially promised but here you go." Another nurse hands over a wad of cash over to you. You flip through it and, yeah, it's not as good as the initial offer but! It's still money!
