"A triviality, perhaps, a mere flicker of honor’s shadow, igniting the battlefield in the hearts of sisterhood." Yumi scoffed. "It's typical of Oceanipponese to care way too much about honor. Or maybe Ayane did something foolish that came back to bite her."
"That's rich coming from you, considering you always get lost in delusions about being amazing." You tease.
"They are NOT delusions! It's pride about my power! I KNOW I'M A STRONG AND USEFUL CURSED SERVANT!" Yumi shouted. "And yeah, honor can be important. But I don't obsess over it!"
A comfortable silence was shared between you two.
"Hey, Yumi," You say to her with genuineness, "Thank you."
Though it was gone in less than a split second, you swear you see Yumi's face blush a shade bluer.
"Hah! The mighty Savant finally recognizes the greatness of the wandering servant, whom is bearer of the secret fire! Verily, she is spirit known as Yumi!" She says smugly. "Next, you shall cower under my tyranny and pledge your life to—"
"Don't push your luck, condemned servant." You tease her, beginning a back and forth with her that ends with laughter.
"But seriously," Says she. "Ai is pretty similar to Ayane when it comes to carnal heat. Except your fox woman adores you way more." Yumi gives you a side-glance. "Don't you think she should act more her age?"
"I could say that about you, too." You say with a grin. "And I wouldn't call her obsessed. Just a little romantic." It made sense. You basically saved Ayane from a fate worse than death.
And speaking of her, your kitsune wife, a very happily tired Ayane, came by. Ryko and Shizuku tagged along with her.
"Mr. John Doe!" Ryko shouts.
"Mr. John Doe!" Shizuku repeats.
They ran around you, making a few circles.
"What is the foolishness? Who disturbs my slumber!" Said Yumi, even though she made no move or implication that she was gonna go to sleep.
The little ghost girl then pointed at Ryko. "You! I thought you were better than this!"
"Huh? Who are you?" Ryko said innocently.
"Huh???" Yumi was incredulous. "Don't you remember me?!?! We talked a whole bunch while John Doe was saving your aunt!"
"Ok." Ryko didn't say much else. "Auntie Ayane, can we get the things?"
"Yes, that's why we're here to begin with." Ayane said in a motherly tone, then she looked at you. "My love, do you know where Eisho and Ai are?"
You beckoned her to come closer, then whispered in her ear.
"Oh, goodness." She blinked a few times, before turning to the two kits. "Your mother and father are busy with important things. We shouldn't bother them."
"Hey! We're not done here!" Yumi said to Ryko.
"Mr. John Doe!" Ryko then turned to you, ignoring Yumi. "Ayane doesn't know how to play!"
"Ah, I do know how." Ayane smiled. "My bones just aren't as good as they used to be. Fufufufu~"
