"I don't know how you'd even manage to do that..." Gallahad is quick to deny the opportunity. "Don't think I've ever seen anyone accused of witchcraft be forgiven by doing anything."
"What if I took care of Merlina? The silver eyed occultist from the swamps?" You suggest defeating the most evil magical force in Midland by yourself, something that Gallahad reacts accordingly.
"Are you out of your mind, Boy?! I've seen what her magic does to my colleagues! There's not a shred of mercy to those who enter the infested swamp! God knows how I managed to escape without being turned into one of those... Monsters!" The old veteran reminds himself of the gruesome visions he saw of his comrads turning into ghoulish creatures, only escaping by the skin of his teeth with Jacopo as he rode his horse away into the distance.
"I know it sounds insane, especially in my condition, but lend me your ear for a second." You then go on to explain your visions of crimson fleshed monsters who chanted your name in your hallucinations, the reason you were not able to live normally among the nobles. And now that you've gotten some information from the swampy areas, and with even Locus the Moonlight Knight refusing to fight Merlina for the sake of not interfering with a prophecy, you think that maybe you could have some sort of connection to her, maybe purging that swamp could reveal more about your magical origins?
"Grrr, I know damn well you're not one to lie, but the more I hear about these magical creatures, the less I want to believe them. I know whatever I say's not going to make you drop that idea out of your stubborn head, so let me help you escape my way. Just make sure you don't go in there head first before taking care of your body, alright? A few weeks stuck in your cell and out of your diet could make you very rusty."
Shaking hands in agreement, you agree on faking your own death and let Gallahad carry you personally into the outskirts of town, where your body would supposedly be buried. Though he could not find you any weapons or a horse, he did hand you a map with a dark brown cape to hide yourself in the woods.
"Just keep walking straight North when the foliage starts getting dense. should take you a week on foot. When the leaves start changing color from green to red, that's when you know you're close. Can't miss it." That's about all the advice you got from Gallahad, and aside from the bag of 10 golden coins he managed to snatch from your room, you didn't have a lot on your inventory.
