Lucian felt that burning anger resting within his chest. As the Imperial mentioned the idea of charging forward and fighting the enemy, the Rune that rested in Lucian’s chest began to ache with anger. It was irritated before being denied the brutal fighting and now it was being given that chance now. The chance to slaughter the Skaven who damned Dwarfs to the World’s Edge Mountains.
Maybe it was through the influence of this relic, but in truth Lucian had agreed with it, “We cannot stand here and take whatever comes down! We slay the Warlord!” His words were met with another onslaught of Skaven rats who at the mention of their master went into a frenzy.
“Thats a risk, laddy.” Adok pointed out as he turned three of their kind into paste with a single blow of his hammer, “But if I did not follow I’d become a Slayer, WE CHARGE!”
Lucian watched as the odd magical energies that Adok channeled were swelling around his body. The hammer glowing red hot even as no fire seemed to pour out of it. With a strike upon the skull of a Skaven a rune was imbedded within the skull, the next moment Lucian felt his body become lighter and his senses sharper than even under the Rune’s influnce.
Lucian felt his heart elate as he screamed at the top of his lungs, “FOR MORR AND THE LADY, WE CHARGE TO GLORY!”
Upon his command they all threw themselves into the muck. Lucian could feel himself sinking along with the corpse that he had stepped upon, yet he did not have trouble freeing himself. The magics infused within Lucian had encompassed his own wear, making it pass with ease in such dogged terrain.
Forward they all charged forward. Adolf skillfully stabbing through a great many Skaven necks while Lucian removed their legs from their torsos. The Runesmith was turning the slaughter of Skaven into an artpiece as several perfect blows made it seemed like he was at the forge.
As whatever was coming down the well completely swallowed the light behind it, the only illumination was the hammer of Adok. Light danced with each blow the dwarf made the figures on the walls animate to even a greater degree than reality. At one point the Horde would appear to almost consume the heroes, in the next they were triumphant against the incoming horde.
The hammer, in one moment covered in the black blood of Skaven, dimmed to what might be the darkest moment in Lucian’s entire life.
Then light flooded the room as a Beastial Roar they were fleeing fell onto the ground. With ti so close, Lucian finally recognized the roar of Bok.
