Despite what the Bolar Federation wants itself, and any other civilization to think, their military prowess is far from spectacular. Thanks to the syndicate nature of their governmental systems, their navies are composed of cheaply made vessels, their battleships barely qualifying as cruisers by any other standard, with nonexistent point defense and low acceleration, meant to swamp the enemy in massive firing lines rather than sweep and strike or cruise in and duel. They have not felt the need to change for now. However, they have made a single, fatal mistake.
