New bruises litter your arms, neck and legs. Dreadful hand shaped bruises, painful to touch, you undid the straps to get a better look at the rest of yourself. Your knees and feet were bandaged. More dark and old blood was littering the bindings. Your heart beats steadily and your lungs breathe easily, now that the tube has been removed. Your back was stiff as you tested how much you could move, pins and needles prickling your hips with discomfort as you swung your legs over the edge. The room was quiet, medical equipment orderly packed around the area. Other lines ran into your body, small monitors strapped to you.
Pulling them free you try to stand. Sharp pain aches across the balls of your cut up feet, but it wasn't enough to dissuade you. You had to know what happened to everyone else, you didn't make it to Tony and Cas in time. You just wish they were in one piece. Machines beep and tick around you, using the bed as support you manage to walk between furniture to furniture as you head for the door. The hospital gown you wore did nothing to help with the cool interior of the place. You work your way to the door, ignoring the occasional speckle of blood that marks your path. You made it out into a hallway, it was as sterile and empty as your room. You wander for a while, peeking into empty rooms, time dragging on. You had not even an ounce of the concept of time. You began to panic, maybe this was death.
Maybe your mind was trapped within the Umbral Core. Maybe you were some ghost in the machine. Rounding a corner you spot life, your heart flutters, a woman stands peering through a window. As you limp closer you notice her bright red hair and just how tall she is, the woman was probably over seven feet tall. As you move closer you pass the window she is staring through. A bed like your own rested in the center of the room, a large clear plastic tent was set up around it. Machines feeding in sterile air and chirping like birds. You stop to take a closer look. A bandaged body lies there, blood stained sheets underneath it. All four limbs are gone, tubes and lines run into the body, feeding and extracting liquids. "So, you're the one" You crept closer to the giant woman unsure of what to say to her, instead you keep looking through the glass. Finding a place at her side, you could see the low beat reading out on the heart monitor.
