You sit down next to Bubu to help him fillet his first fish, your new friends letting you do the explaining. Kari seemed a bit more interested now, though it's more like she's nervous about the fish... or something else.
You start by teaching Bubu how to hold the knife properly, and after explaining it to him you hand it over, the knife resting on your upward palms. He brushes his fingers over your palm to take the handle. It spooked Kari a bit, and you couldn't help but feel something about it. What could it be? Bubu inserts the knife into the fish's underbelly and cuts it from head to tail. Unlike you, he didn't seem to mind hearing the strange sound of rending flesh, his reaction never once changing. Even you felt a bit disgusted just from touching the raw fish.
Bubu didn't need your help one bit, his filleting impressed all of your new friends. It was almost as if it wasn't his first time, chances are that he's helped his Baba and Pappy do some filleting before. You couldn't help but feel sad that Bubu probably didn't share his first filleting with you, whatever that's supposed to mean.
Bubu diced up the fish for all of you and proceeded to cook it while you and Kari mixed some cornflour to make tortillas for Bubu's fish. Kari asked you many questions about your experience with the knife, but in the corner of your eye, you spot that chunky fox, drawn to the smell of grilled fish. Puki caught a glance of it and she shook her head in disapproval. Good job, now that chunky fox is going to follow you guys everywhere,
The chunky fox approached Bubu while he was grilling some fish, but he ignored it for the most part, making it sit patiently. Whenever the chunky fox tried to prod its snout close to get a sniff, Bubu would tap its snout with chopsticks, making it squeal and retracting its head. It would stay in place and look timid but would try again after some time.
Bubu gave you the first batch of grilled fish, plopping it on top of your tortilla. The chunky fox's gaze followed the meat moving from the grill to your tortilla. It then locked its eyes on you.
You...
>Gave the chunky fox something to nibble on.
>Gently poke its head with your finger to make it squeal because it sounded cute, but also to let it know its behavior was unappreciated.
>Ignore it, maybe Bubu has plans to feed it after everybody else.
>Write-in.
