The boy started crying as they tried to snatch him from each other's arms. Hedwyn wanted to put him in the front lines without even having named him to see what he was capable of, Sivir, who spent more time with him than his father, felt entitled to keep him safe, despite not being able to run away.
And with his shouts, a more primordial scream came along with his, as a valiant knight invaded the home to smite the occultist and his spawn, an echo originating from a wooden Behelit, making time stand still as all but Hedwyn, Sivir and the boy disappeared amidst the darkness...
"The fissure in your heart appears to have grown, Hedwyn." Ubik floated around the bearded mage smuggly grinning at him.
"I can already tell how glorious breeding grounds for my garden is, brimming with life and death, the beautiful flowers that shall come from this pestilent forest" Conrad rubbed his hands together, having taken Hedwyn for a fool since the start.
"Th-This must be a mistake of some kind! I thought the behelit would only present itself towards those destined to fall by causality's hands! In desperate points of their lives, no less?"
"Those conditions indeed meet both of those criteria: An ambicious mage who inseminates his own creations as a last resort against us, a plant hybrid, who plays pretend as a mother in order to not be exterminated, and the son of a distunctional family, crying as his life is prematurely ended by the strike of a sword." Slan stroked her breasts as she anticipated the carnage that would soon come.
As Hedwyn sweated protusely, he still heard the desperate cries of his son, connecting the dots, he came to a horrifying realisation.
"T-This can't be... Is it possible that... HE, summoned forth a Behelit?!"
"Being so young, and being already tied to our plans... you have truly sprouted a great seed for myself, Hedwyn. We were right in leaving your cult for last before extinguishing the barriers of the astral world." Conrad admitted to manipulating Hedwyn, as well as confirming his fears.
"Tell us, little boy. What do you wish to sacrifice for your safety?" Slan ran her fingers through the crying child's neck as it levitated into the skies, springing forth several flesh colored trees as he floated away from his parents.
"WAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAH!"
"It is futile to bargain with one incapable of higher thoughts. His ability to spring thoughts into reality might indeed be impressive, yet without morals or higher thought process, corrupting him into our weapon would require him to be capable of manipulation." Void told Slan to quit playing with the child, placing it back onto its mother's grasp.
"Is he the fith member, perhaps? It has been over 200 years since our last addition to our dimension..." Slan pondered.
"Perhaps in a new cycle, but as of now, only his birthplace is of importance. Without a sacrifice, we have no means of interfering with his life."
