“I’ll do whatever it takes to keep my family safe. Even if they hate me for it.” you declared, becoming a bit defensive.
Matt nodded slightly. “I know. I can’t fault you for feeling that way.”
“This one’s on me. Don’t beat yourself up over something that I did.” you said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Matt shook his head. “No, this is my fault too. I should’ve said something before letting you run around when you’re like this.”
You removed your hand and took a step back. “Like what?”
He gave you a serious look. “You’re a raw nerve, right now. You and Cindy both. You’re just reacting to everything that comes your way with violence and panic. You’re confused and scared, unsure of what to do in an unfamiliar situation, so you’re trying to scrape through by resorting to your ‘tried and true’ methods.” he observed. “That little girl has gone through more than most grown men in only the last two weeks, and I haven’t seen her shed a single tear or process anything in a remotely healthy way. Both of you need to slow down.”
“We can’t afford to slow down right now.” you replied. Cindy nodded her agreement. “Not while these parasites are running free. I just hope that Morbius, Marc and Louise can put a dent in their numbers.”
Matt’s shoulders slumped slightly, and he wiped a bit of blood from his mask. Droplets of rain were now falling from the sky, washing his costume clean of the deep red and black stains from the battle. “Yeah, me too.” he said, turning to walk down the street. “Be careful on your way home, you two. Lot’s of crazy people out tonight.”
You watched him leave until he turned a corner and could no longer be seen from where you stood. Both you and Cindy just waited there for a moment and allowed the rain to soak your clothes.
“Let’s go home.”

The way back was somewhat refreshing, as you no longer had to hold onto Cindy with a vice grip. Among the other tools that Moon Knight had given her, was a grappling hook that allowed her to more or less keep pace with you during travel. You were more than a little worried at first, but she reassured you that she was properly trained in its use. She was already an athletic little thing, but with that grappling hook, she seemed to move like Matt or Anastasia over these darkened city streets.
When you’d gotten back home, the first thing you did was hop into the shower, before heading to bed and passing out. Cindy did much of the same, finally letting her exhaustion win out in the end.

The following morning, you woke to realize that Morbius left you a voicemail and a series of texts. In it, he detailed that Terminal had driven Cromwell out of the city, but failed to kill her. He was intercepted by a man that Morbius believes to be the "Son of Dracula".
