Kinslayer hovers into the corner of your vision, floating in the air beside you. You can’t HEAR Irinnile right now, but you can practically imagine her frenzy—furious, aroused by the blood seeping into her luminous blade, hungry for more carnage.
“Luckily,” you boast, “I have allied myssself with better help than you have.”
Kinslayer plunges forward, craving a bloody channel through the mislead mammalian minions of the allegedly-great demon. You follow the succubus-sword’s lead, albeit a bit slower than the flying sword can seemingly travel when properly fueled with the fear of the dead and dying. Unimpeded by the chaff, you find battle instead with their leader…
“Hm.”
Your grunt is an understatement, to be sure. The incubus is… Not as you left it. You’d expected some little crow-thing, or perhaps a possessed cultist with better armaments. What you find instead is both… And neither… And something altogether worse.
The corvid you saw gathering the gore of your rampage to it has coalesced all the spilled blood and guts around a frame of reknitted bone from several skeletons—the children, primarily. Shoulders made from smashed-and-reformed skulls roll as the strange and terrible figure acclimates to this new war-form. The crow itself has become a sort of bizarre mask, stretched out and contorted around a lumpy face of mangled flesh. Entire hands have been reshaped into long, over-articulated fingers, which have combined in turn into great hands. It does not bleed, for a thin membrane of black charcoal has sealed into a coagulated sort of scab-skin across this awful flesh-puppet.
Luckily, you are not without tricks of your own.
You point the shoggoth-sword at the creature from several body-lengths away-outside of even this ungainly thing’s reach—and will the blade to extend outward into a thin, piercing spear, aiming for the crow upon the face—surely the ‘brain’ of this thing, if it has any such analogue to the organ at all?
