>>5144548>>5144563The guild sends Sabeleye over to King Slow with the scroll. Sabeleye refuses to let go of the artifact, but shows the king every portion of it.
The blur of emotion on King Slow's face is all but indescribable. He speedreads every inch of the scroll, tears welling in his eyes. Whether they are of joy or sorrow, you cannot tell. Ermanno walks over to the left of the throne and pats his adoptive father on the back, comforting him. Callisto does the same on the right. Everyone else in the throne room simply watches. The shellder on King Slow's lap leaps off the throne and walks away, clearly annoyed by the lack of pets by its owner(?).
Eventually, King Slow collects himself, and speaks.
"Thank you, Sabeleye, for showing me this. With my photographic memory I have recorded every event within the scroll as it currently exists. I know, however, that it will change, and that you will have much need of it in your adventures. So long as you show its contents to me from time to time, so that I may copy it into normal writing, you may keep the scroll."
Suddenly, King Slow drags Sabeleye close to him, and whispers in his ear as he points to a specific portion of the scroll.
"Do you see this, Sabeleye? It says that a member of your guild will try to assassinate me. It does not say when, but it seems to be writing out who will. Behold!"
Sure enough, King Slow speaks true. Sabeleye watches in horror as the name of the assassin slowly etches itself into the ever-changing sea of symbols.
Everyone roll a 1d20. Nat 20 means you're the assassin at some point in time.
