>>5371162“Yo Kelpie, got the straggler.” Bernard’s voice fizzles into your ear. While you don’t know what took him all that time for a single straggler, you’re just glad he got the job done. “Comin’ back now.”
With that, he reappears back where you guys came in, yet another unconscious geek in tow. “Wow. Everyone looks dead here.” Bernard whistles, surveying the comatose crowd. “This your work, jerkface?”
“That it is.” Valjean grins haughtily, as if he took down the whole room on his own. But you don’t care– he can be haughty all he wants cause he’s still going back to the warehouse later!
“That reminds me…” He mutters, crouching down to one of the knocked-out goons to pick off one of their walkie-talkies. “Reporting. Yeah, it was another Code Tango alright. Affirmative…” Valjean nods. “It’s all taken care of.”
“What’d you just tell them?” You wonder if he actually knows what he’s telling the other goons or if he’s just spouting random bullshit.
“I said that someone went postal. Works every time” He informs you. “Happens pretty often in this place. Not really surprised, honestly.” As for why Valjean knows their codes, you reason that he picked them up from his time as Sopor.
It’s then that Boleski reappears with a mess of different-colored keycards, one red, one ice-blue, and other green, holding them out for you to take.
“Good thinking, Boleski,” You praise his quick-thinking, because you didn’t really consider that this building might’ve required different key cards than those of the main building, and, had you not known that, who knows what kind of problems you might’ve run into further down the line. Nonetheless, each card goes into your new utility belt in the same place where you’ve been keeping Boleski’s card this whole time.
With the bulk of security down for the count, the building is basically yours, as is the innumerable wealth of data that FutureLabs has stored within it. All you have to do now is destroy it, and destroy it you will.
The question is how will you proceed from here?
