“I never thought we could do this much, and it could mean this much to others.” You set a goal and did it, what a concept.
“We proved wrong the ones we wanted to prove wrong. And we proved right the ones who supported us from the very beginning.” Philonune smiles. “Young Constance, I’m fond of her like no other, Partner. There’s no reward like bringing her glee.”
“Really?” This surprises you! He doesn’t say much.
“I’m surprisingly vain, partner. She’s the only one who acknowledges my presence each time we see her.” Philonune recalls every single hand-waving from the mummy! “And of course, her loyalty is unrivaled. Kindness to boot? This warrior has only praise.”
“She’s that special to everyone…” Makes you regret not spending too much time with her.
“No regrets, partner. We have allies aplenty, some of whom have supported her in our stead. It’s through everyone’s efforts that we made this possible.” Philonune doesn’t want you to feel guilt. “But our efforts are far from done. This world is still in peril.”
“Yeah, it’s way easier to feel confident when you have everyone’s help.” You believe it’s a dumb thing to say, but it doesn’t make it less true.
