You find yourself in... somewhere.
It is a strange place, without shadow or light. Yet, you can make yourself out perfectly as though you were surrounded by light in this strange and... almost foggy looking place. A reddish mist overtakes the air, and you feel yourself treading a solid surface, yet there was no ground visible to see. Below your feet was what looked like an endless sea of stars, and in the air above, numerous wooden frames to doors leading yet to other places beyond your imagination dotted the sky.
Could this be the lair, or domain of the secret god that kidnapped you?
<span class="mu-s">"Welcome, Albert Perry, to the Land of the Back Door."</span>
Possibly. Very possibly.
You stepped forward cautiously at the tone of a woman's condescending voice...
"...It's you, isn't it? You were the one."
<span class="mu-s">"That...?"</span>
"Spirited me away to Gensokyo."
<span class="mu-s">"Very good! I see you've even gotten over the usage of the term 'kidnapped'. After all, I wasn't a very good kidnapper now, was I?"</span>
"What do you mean...?"
<span class="mu-s">"Well, if I had truly intended to kidnap you for real, then you would have never escaped Gensokyo, I'll have you know. I am a goddess that lays back out of sight, but I'm no sloth. Perhaps you've already heard this, but I am very capable of ending you, or seizing you, or playing with you however I please. And yet, I have done none of those things, have I?"</span>
"..."
Despite the way you felt about this mysterious lady, she had a point.
<span class="mu-s">"So, did you enjoy your time in Gensokyo?"</span>
You look up at her, not sure what to feel at the moment. It certainly isn't anger.
"Yes."
<span class="mu-s">"And you want to visit again, do you not?"</span>
"Yes..."
<span class="mu-s">"Very well. Then I will let you reach Gensokyo, once more."</span>
What?
Just like... that? She's going to... let you back into Gensokyo? You... you didn't believe it. That can't truly be why she's opened that backdoor to your home and let you inside this strange dimension.
"What's the catch?"
<span class="mu-s">"There is none. I am letting you do as you please, and giving you what you ask for. After all, what you do is of your own free will."</span>
A door frame rises from the mists in front of you, and opens.
Clearly through it, and almost causing you to gasp at the sight, you see... the Hakurei Shrine.
