>Bring up the Espimon incident right now. You don't want to wait till this is all over and you can sit down. He's mad at you over something that you're not willing to take the blame for, and that irritates you enough to call him out right here and now.
"Hang on. Before we go-"
He's walking a little fast, so you try to grab his shoulder. However, you find your hand being parried by Kaus Gammamon. He nudges your palm away with a sudden burst of speed, and you quickly tuck your whole hand back towards your chest. It stings a little.
"What?" Wind asks, glancing over his shoulder.
You glance at his partner nervously. They're both on edge today.
"I heard that you're unhappy with me. I don't want to go into a meeting before we clear that up."
"Gee, what could I possibly be annoyed over?"
He turns around with his arms crossed. You stare up at him defiantly, daring to face him even with your partner absent. You don't expect Kaus Gammamon to get involved again unless you reach towards him, so you keep your distance.
"Ryan and Squid both told me about the Espimon."
"Yeah. The Espimon. It was good fortune that Kaus Gammamon deleted it before it crossed the jamming threshold. But we were this close to losing our whole base."
He pinches his fingers together in anger.
"So how could I not be mad?"
"And how was I supposed to know there was an Espimon lurking down there?" You retort. "Sweeping the hallways isn't one of my responsibilities. You were so eager to expel Liza that you opened the gate before getting the all-clear, am I supposed to be sorry that I didn't volunteer to clean up?"
You see a flicker of something other than frustration in his eyes. Your words ring true, but that doesn't mean you'll automatically get a reasonable reaction.
"It's not just that. It's the fact that if we wiped out all of those Digimon, they wouldn't have had the chance to plot against us."
"Plot against us? Firstly, you're talking about killing thirty living, thinking Digimon who've already surrendered. And next, how do you know it was him?!"
"Wh- Are you joking?! Look around you, Marnie, we're still cleaning up after they tried to kill ALL of us! How can you trust a random City slave like that?!"
Your raised voices are starting to attract attention now. A few of the new folk are watching. However, Kaus Gammamon does yet another thing that you don't expect.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Get back to work."</span></span> He curtly commands, sending them all back to their duties in an instant. They scurry out of the room, and those who remain busy themselves with miscellaneous tasks. You don't recall him having this kind of presence before. It's a little intimidating, coming from a Digimon who was always content to stand silently behind Wind.
