This debacle also brings to mind the question of how we'd support our troops in the case of further operations where Chaos interference is a danger to us and our bots. Perhaps we could draw up some designs for human-controlled heavy weapons systems based on our drones, since it's clear anything with an AI core is vulnerable. Maybe even with electromechanical control systems to make them as hardened as possible (Nurglite degradation effects being unhealthy for digital electronics also come to mind) at the cost of performance, though converting it from solid-state to analogue would gimp it less than removing the AI core would (unfortunately it seems the latter is non-negotiable), machine spirit wackery aside.
While it's dubious at best how much they'd have helped against Tzeenchian wizard bullshit, I think they'd be useful to have in the future when dealing with more shootable Chaos forces because even teched-up light infantry is still kinda squishy and I don't like the notion of sending them in without fire support when they don't have to be.
