You’re talking about her running off like the thick-headed IDIOT she always is and pretending it’s about FREEDOM, you snap, the sudden change in tone earning a gasp from Volka behind you! She heard it from Morook herself: her big, scary GREATER DUMBASS ran screaming like a schoolgirl after running into Liz! They’re either in something’s belly already or they’re licking their wounds and they’re PISSED OFF!
“Well-”
No, you scoff, you know what? If she’s so tough, and smart, and all of the other things she always claims to be, then fine! LEAVE!
The word slaps the devil across the face like a glove.
“...R-really?”
GO!
She doesn’t even insult you as she takes to the sky. Doesn’t hurl a fireball, doesn’t torch a tree, doesn’t even shoot you a dirty look… she just leaves.
This too is eerily familiar.
“REZZIE!” Sputters Volka after processing what happened seconds later, “W-wait..”
All TT can do is watch her go before looking up at you with a shaky smile. “W-well… that um… that coulda gone worse… h-heheh…”
Morook, to his credit, merely remains silent. It takes you a moment to realize your fists are clenched at your sides.
And burning.
“H-hey, I’ve got an idea!” Volka exclaims, “W-why don’t we take a break, yea? We can head to that inn once we’ve… cleared our heads a bit! Y-yea!”
“Great idea, Volkie!” Tzah-Tzie replies with a hasty series of nods, “A break! Whoof, yep, I could do with a rest! Today’s really takin’ a toll on me!”
“It would be wise to depart sooner rather tha-”
“Mor.”
The ranger’s eyes flicker. “Ah. Yes, a break would be lovely.”
You don’t bother throwing your opinion into the pile. As your friends take off in different directions, TT gives your still–clenched palm a gentle squeeze before scampering off as well.
This too is eerily familiar.
The icy breeze does little to dislodge you from your spot. You could probably stand here forever, you think. Standing. Frowning. Simmering.
Maybe you could use a break…
What do?
