Of the Rituals that the Mechanicum have pledge to its eternal memoir of knowledge, over three quarters were devoted to the rituals of maintenance which allowed their machines to function. In times before someone might not understand why this is the case. Some civilizations see their machines as disposable, only lasting a few years as the machine either finds itself outdated or degrading over time.
Not the Mechanicum.
When the Cult of the Machine God creates a weapon, vehicle, or standard appliance there is an eternal guarantee upon them. Forges by the greatest of steel refineries ever to have been conceived and whose technology rivals the vast majority of humanity’s existence. When one discovers an STC there is nothing in existence that is better than that, and if a Priest was to try and develop it through the standard procedures it would take him Ten Thousand Years to truly make a product that is different from the original.
Thus, the Mechanicum creates its machines and operates in such a way that they are expected to last that Ten Thousand Years. That the weakness of flesh is there, but the Machine when cared for is truly the most eternal thing in understood existence.
Thus TalOS studied these rituals from the greatest of Titans to the lowest of Stubber Guns. He tested and experienced all that these rituals had, seeing if any of them had the same draw that TalOS had once before experienced. To his joy, there was indeed results.
One was for the Plasma Gun, which with a flow of his hand caused the coils to clean themselves with ease. The next was the Baneblade, whose control systems stabilized as if the motherboard was suddenly cleaned of data junk.
These two helped TalOS to realize something. All rituals that were committed here were acts created by Mars. There was no concrete time in which they happened, as referenced by the Plasma Gun which was known since the earliest days of the Mechanicum to the semi-modern Bane Blade which was discovered after Lucius had left the cradle of Mars.
Thus the realization showed TalOS, indeed the Machine God had blessed the Mechanicum in the most simplest of ways. But now with a crumble trail laid TalOS was quickly starting to parcel through the Rituals, to comprehend what was it that had them act.
