>>5898300>You>“You must be mad if you think I’d sit back while you and Anacharsis commit such grave evil! I wouldn’t wish the fate you have in store for those pilgrims on my worst enemy. If the two of you thought such an offer would get me to stay my blade, then I wonder if you ever really knew me at all. I’ll stop your twisted scheming even if it kills me!”“I sympathize with your plight.” Anemone says, clutching her Crescent Scythe firmly in hand. “I’ve often wondered if there was any god out there that was looking out for me and my people. That cared for us and watched over our lives. If there is though, I know for certain it is not the gods you wish to awaken. Those jealous creators that nearly plunged the world into darkness out of spite for Sothis. So long as I stand, you will never awaken them from their slumber!”
Hoff smirks. The Agarthan stands from his seat behind the desk and raises his hands. “So be it. I gave it my best, but it appears we are at an impasse.” He suddenly slams his hand on the desk. Nothing happens at first, until suddenly the room you stand in begins to shake and tremble violently. Shelved books and hanging paintings clatter to the floor, and it is all you and Anemone can do to maintain your balance. As you crouch down to maintain your stability, you notice that the very room itself seems to be sinking deeper into the earth.
“I hoped that you would see reason!” Hoff yells over the tremors. “That you would give up this folly! You never knew the real Hoff. It was I the entire time. Not an ounce of the warmth or affection that I showed you was fabricated! But if you choose to stand in the way of Lord Anacharsis, then I cannot bring myself to forgive you! You will not leave these walls alive!”
The room sinks further and further, until you suddenly find yourself somewhere new altogether. It looks to be a large cavern, far vaster and wider than anything you could have imagined existing underneath the castle. On each side of the cavern are four metallic looking pillars, each of which pulsate an ominous shade of blue. Scattered all over the cavern are piles upon piles of the black iron, Agarthium,
“Viskam!” Anemone seethes beside you. “What are those doing here?!”
The Count’s Office, now serving as a descending platform for this cavern, finally reaches the ground floor. Before you can strike at Hoff, three apparitions appear before him. Women, and sisters at that, that you remember working as maids within the castle. Though you can now plainly see that was just a cover story. Each of them wields a different colored blade, poised and ready to strike at you.
“Mistress Blair.” Jess bows.
“Welcome back.” Jessie smiles.
“Shall I prepare your bed for you?” Jessa asks.
