>>5354097You inform Stalnoivolk that you plan on nailing Pedraza first, and that he’s welcome to follow along and back you up.
He just nods and begins to show you the way.
Thanks to his directions, you make quick time through the palace, now that you have a concrete idea of where you’re going.
The security in this section is noticeably tighter, with the previously lackluster guards being replaced by “mercenaries” and actual professionals, but you and your men manage to get the drop on them nonetheless.
Stalnoivolk does his part too, casually approaching guards familiar with his presence before twisting their heads off like he was brutalizing a child’s toy.
Unfortunately, things come to a head when you’re a stones throw from reaching Pedraza. You take point, Stalnoivolk at your heels, and enter through a doorway to some kind of grand hall, right as your gut begins howling at you to move.
A chunk of rock comes screaming at you from out of sight, and you’re just barely able to avoid getting pasted by the makeshift boulder.
Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky.
Stalnoivolk is hit full force and is flung back through the doorway, scattering your men with his displaced momentum.
Before you can get your bearings, a thick, steel security door slams shut, sealing the doorway and blocking Stalnoivolk and Bonilla, and the others outside of the hall.
Fuck, it looks like stealth is now officially off the table. At least you made it 90% of the way before getting spotted.
Now you just need to finish the job; but you’ve still got one problem to handle.
As Stalnoivolk warned, you’re face to face to with that gargantuan shitheel; the General, who looks like Christmas just came early.
“Well, well, looky here. I told Lok that’d you’d be dumb enough to show your face around here again, but I didn’t think it’d be so soon! You must really have a death wish, walking right into my sights of your own free will.
Not that I’m complaining or anything. Saves me the hassle of having to drag you kicking and screaming out of your rathole.”
As a response, you decide to…
> Leverage the blackmail you’ve been collecting. It doesn’t matter if you win or not, because the Squad will always lose.> Take out his eyes with your carbine. He’ll regenerate them, but it’ll give you time to really put the hurt on him.> Nail him with the most powerful Lightning Bolt you’ve got. He might be tough, but it’s sure to rattle his cage.> Combine your Fire, Storm, and Chaos natures like Set advised you back in the Assembly. If mixing two can create something powerful, mixing three might create something that’ll really give you the edge. > Bring out the Claw and trigger Volcanic Rage. You’re not fucking around this time, go straight for the big guns.> Other?
