The engines of the Knights and Armigers roared as they were now within the city itself. The sound of Thermal Cannons and Lances breaking through the air was the preamble to the destruction of several buildings that were around them.
Unlike the Shanty that they had traveled before the buildings were all different sizes and shapes. It was evident that the Greenskin, upon taking the settlement, had begun turning the entire place into their own twisted masterpieces of insanity.
Thus to UZ1 it was a simple thing. The complete destruction of the city with all the ordinance that could be afforded to such a task.
Buildings that must have been thirty stories in height were brought down with the fury of the Machine God. The Orks who were running under them to get to the rampaging Knights were buried under a mountain of rubble that could only be scaled with an hour’s work. That however made no mention of the amount of dust and debris that was kicked out from the collapse of such massive pieces of infrastructure.
UZ1 had depended on all of this as she made sure her mask was secured upon her face. In the moments when the Orks were to catch wind of the Knights instead of a fight they were buried under feet of concrete. With the massive clouds and the continued falling of buildings across the entire city the Orks were deprived of almost all sense.
They continued their way through the smoke clouds that now covered the landscape. UZ1 having the Skitarii employ Omnispex readers to guide them through the debris. The Knights did not need to worry about such things, arcane technology giving them senses closer to that of an Omnispex than that of a mortal man.
Through the cover UZ1 noticed their distance to the main force and called out over the Vox, “We are closing in on our Target! Lex Gavros I ask that you hold your fire so that we can regain sight!”
+I understand!+ Cheered the Knight in a joyful tone that could only come from someone who finally got to do what they’ve always wanted to do.
So they traveled forward, UZ1 keeping her cloak tight as the dust slowly began to settle upon the ground.
