You climb all the way down to the floor and look around and see <span class="mu-r">a river of lava</span> flowing down from the ceiling and across the other side of the cave!
What? You just realized they're called the ash caves because there's a lot of lava and fire everywhere? It seems like this is a pretty dangerous place! You look up at Suba.
"Where's the spaceship?"
"The what? Oh, you mean where the slimy black creatures are?" Suba looks around and then looks back at you. "Well... to tell you the truth, I've never been to the ash caves before."
It seems like you and Suba will have to find the alien-type mons so you can help that strange little girl! You look around and see a tunnel and point at it.
"Over there!"
"Looks good to me." Suba glances at Rumbletrap's tail and says "And it looks like it's too small for Rumbletrap to fit through if it wakes up."
You and Suba start walking through the tunnel and it gets so dark you can't see anything. You keep walking and then you can see light ahead of you and you come out into a big cave with a bunch of tunnel openings all along the walls!
Suba looks around and says "It's going to take all day to search this place!"
You look around again and-
[SFX: rumbling]
"Rumbletrap!"
"No!" Suba points behind you. "Look!"
You look behind you and see <span class="mu-r">a big crack</span> split open in the wall and lava starts pouring out and starts to surround you!
"OVER HERE!"
What? Something is calling you? When you look around you see <span class="mu-r">a mechanical-type mon</span> that looks like a box with two legs and a pair of thin antennae! The mechanical-type mon hops forward and says "BOTH OF YOU! THIS WAY, QUICKLY!"
You both run toward the mechanical-type mon and it hops up the tunnel ahead of you just as the lava flows through the cave you were in!
"THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF EARTHQUAKES LATELY."
Suba looks back at the lava and then looks at the mechanical-type mon and asks "What are you?"
"DIPOELAGUS. DID THE PROFESSOR SEND YOU?"
What? The mechanical-type mon is asking about a professor? You look down at Dipoelagus.
"The professor?"
"WHEN THE LAST SPACESHIP ATTACKED, WE WERE SEPARATED AND I WAS TRAPPED HERE. NOW ANOTHER SPACESHIP HAS CRASHED NEARBY."
What? Dipoelagus is saying it's been trapped down here since the ancient alien war? But that was thousands of years ago!
"I'm Suba." She points at you and says "This is Cutémon. We're looking for the sacred crystal."
"THE WHAT?"
"Oh, what did you call it, Cutémon?" Suba looks at you. "Accretion slab?"
"THEY HAVE AN ACCRETION SLAB? I WILL TAKE YOU TO THEM AT ONCE."
Dipoelagus leads you through another tunnel and you see the other half of the crashed alien spaceship sticking through the cave ceiling! When you peek out of the tunnel you see two alien-type mons slithering across the floor toward the alien spaceship!
