When you regain your senses, you see Kiara and Maruyama standing over you. Concern and worry oozes from every inch of their body language. Kiara has a flashlight pointed in your general direction. You remove the night vision goggles. All you can make out is the ritual circle you're laying down on.
Your throat is so, so sore. You can barely even yell out anything right now. Maruyama kneels down to open his suitcase. He pulls out a small bottle of water and hands it to you.
[UNSTABLE] IT'S POISONED. THROW IT AT THAT CUNT. WE CAN'T TRUST THEM RIGHT NOW! THEY CAN BETRAY US AT ANY MOMENT!
[PERSON OF INTEREST] Who knows what ties he might have? So many connections. He must be connected to them.
You push the bottle of water away. <<span class="mu-b">"I'm not taking no for an answer. She was screaming like a fucking banshee! She NEEDS to drink."</span>> He refuses to take it back. You take a small sip to appease him before getting back up. Seems like it was enough for him to take the bottle back.
"What the hell was happening up here? We came rushing the moment you started screaming." Maruyama looks around the dark room. It seems like even with the flashlight, they can only make you out.
"I was going to talk about what we found in the other rooms but this seems more important now." Kiara nervously laughs. <<span class="mu-b">"I REALLY wanted to talk about it. It would've been cool to show off my investigative skills!</span>" She keeps her flashlight pointed at you. "Tell us the deets. Did you see an intruder? Should we be worried?"
Shit. What are you going to do now? They're clearly worried about whatever was going on down here but trying to explain what you saw might be a bad idea...
