Well that's annoying.

You accept the evasion with good grace, electing not to press the issue and instead asking about their time in the King’s service. Although only a few years older than yourself, the two knights have distinguished themselves with several years’ service in that noble institution. To their chagrin they have not had the opportunity to prove themselves in a battle proper, having to suffice with smaller engagements during their patrols that range from a mere handful of opponents to skirmishes similar in size to your own battle on the Kingsroad, which they tell you had heard about. They seem eager enough to prove themselves somehow, and even go so far to say that if you had a mighty endeavour or terrible foe that required was beyond just yourself they would jump at the chance to assist you and bask together in the shared glory.
You’re flattered that they respect your achievements to such an extent that they view you as the obvious choice in a leader of any such party, but there is something about their recounting of their time in the Royal Army and their high praise for the reforms and innovations championed by the Crown Prince as acting-Marshal that troubles you. You cannot in all honesty publically fault any man that claims to hold the Crown Prince in high regard, let alone a member of the Royal Army. The Crown Prince is the future King after all, even if what little you know about him and his associates gives you cause for concern. Admiration for the Prince is no crime, but at the end of the evening you also realise that the two have made no mention of their exploits since witnessing Sir van Brooksvale’s feat of arms and knighthood which was near a year ago. Perhaps nothing of note happened since then, or perhaps they are not at liberty to speak on it. A secret Royal mission is possible, but that would typically fall to the Reginate or the Roiguard if the King wished to keep the Queensmen out of it. Another explanation is that they were not acting for the Royal Army during that time. With a start you realise that you are thumbing the favour of the Lady Vancewell.

Why are the Sir Cedrics here on pilgrimage? What is the significance of their presence in Cathagi?
