>>5459355You decide to tell June about time traveling.
You explain that you died alone in your past life, your mom and dad divorced during college which destroyed Olivia’s life while you ended up in debt for the rest of your life.
You wished to redo your life and ended up waking back in 2007.
You’ve used your future knowledge to invest in bitcoin and apple stocks to keep the house during recession, stopped a shooting at Virginia tech, went on a cruise during 2013 before the industry faded away, and right now, you’re preparing for a “Coronavirus” pandemic which will drastically alter the world.
She seems to take it surprisingly well, but asks why you didn’t alter more events.
You wanted to, but you’re too afraid of what could happen in response. By stopping that korean school shooter early, there was a surge in police militarization and brutality, alongside increased hatred of asians, jumpstarting the hate crimes that would’ve been committed at later date into the present.
And another reason was that your priorities have changed. You wanted to focus on family and friends, but the opportunity for marriage and having children is long gone now.
You don’t know if you’ll live after 2022 in this timeline, and you don’t want to saddle Sarah with children alone. Even with money, not having a father figure is something that you wouldn’t want your children to live through,
Right now, you just want to get as much money as possible before you (potentially) die.
Getting the money is easy.
Keeping the feds from snooping around and discovering it is the hard part.
You could try to keep it subtle, only investing a few thousands in GME and selling them during the peak (Jan 2021), which could result in several hundred thousand dollars in return.
You could try to push your luck and invest a lot more, but you might have to answer to authorities, who could dig up your past.
Or maybe you could try to do a hail mary - invest in big companies, use the millions you currently have to lobby the politicians that the 1 percenters like, do philanthropic works, and maybe you’ll get recognized as a millionaire by other one percenters, and potentially be above the law should you get someone influential as a friend.
While June prefers you to remain as a minor millionaire, being a shareholder and landlord to the rest of the world, she can not control what you decide to do with your time or money.
