>>5629393You watch, stunned as Vegeta's right arm explodes, blood and gore spraying everywhere. He cries out in pain, dropping to his knees and clutching his stump. Everyone once again stops fighting, turning to see the source of the noise. Several people gasp as they see what happened, but then Karn's body seemingly gives out on him. He drops to the ground, first to all fours then collapsing face-down in the dirt. But as he does, there's a loud cracking noise. And in the next instant, a new fighter has appeared. One clad in brilliant, garish gold.
“It would appear I arrived just in the nick of time.” Lord Freeza, Ruler of the Universe says as he rises back up from the crouch he'd landed in. “Vegeta? There's no way <span class="mu-i">you</span> would have bested my general, not alone. How many of your fellow slaves did he take down first?”
“Freeza!!” Vegeta bellows, aura blazing up menacingly as he rises back to his feet. He then levels his remaining hand at Freeza, again channeling that destructive energy. “I'm going to enjoy erasing you! HAKAI!”
“SHHYAAAAAA!!” the emperor bellows, his golden form changing as he takes a similarly-colored form to the one Karn's entire family, that same glowing emblem on his forehead same as everyone else. Then there's a massive explosion, and once it clears you see that Vegeta's gone. Only Freeza remains, hand leveled at where the Saiyan's chest would have been. He then lowers his hand, turning towards the rest of the Time Patrol. “Now, who is next?”
“Tch! Time Patrol, retreat!” she declares, sweeping a hand across the battlefield. Immediately they're all consumed by brilliant light, everyone who showed up with Trunks disappearing in a flash.
“KARN!!” Meloka cries out, rushing over to her husband's side. She slides to a stop by him, pressing one hand to his neck and another to a wrist, laying her ear on his back for a moment. Then immediately springs into action, rolling him over and pressing both hands to his chest. There's a flash of light, but nothing visibly changes with him. And you get a sinking feeling in your gut. Did....Did the effort of fighting off both Goku AND Vegeta take too much out of the older warrior? Is this his end?
“Move!” Freeza orders, kneeling by his side as she moves around behind his head, placing both hands on Karn's chest. “C'mon Karn, you can't die here. Not like this. We need you, I need you. SHYAAAAA!!”
And everything vanishes in a blinding flash of golden light. It quickly fades, but Karn doesn't get up. He doesn't even more.
“Dammit Karn, don't give up on me now!” Freeza says, voice starting to crack with panic as he unleashes another tremendous flash of light. Is this really how he goes out?
