“Farewell!” Dark Shenron roars, body turning to light then returning back into the seven Dark Dragon Balls. But before they can vanish you focus your power, restraining them and draining the rest of their power, reverting them back into powerless rocks. All seven start dropping, you catching them with telekinesis before opening a portal, sending all of them back to the foot of your throne. Once they're all through you shut it back, turning your focus back on the Time Patrollers below. Many of who have gone from looking around up to you, eyes a mixture of shock, awe, and fear. Except for one, who doesn't even look your way. Instead his focus is on a body laying still, one who feels... Different, wrong even, though you can't place exactly why.
“Hyoka? Hey Hyoka! Hyoka!!” the boy Trunks shouts, flying down to her and scooping the body up in his arms. You watch as he places his right hand to her neck, feeling for a pulse, for any sign of life as she lay unmoving, unresponsive. For a few seconds you watch, feeling yourself frown as he no doubt feels a pulse, you seeing the relief in his body language. But, unfortunately for him, she will never wake up. Carefully he opens her left eye with his right hand's fingertips, watching her pupil contract in the light. But she still doesn't respond, her body laying limp. “What's wrong Hyoka? Talk to me!”
“She's not going to wake up, Trunks.” you say to him, trying to soften your voice. He seems to care for that woman quite a bit, which makes what you have to tell him all the worse. “This body you hold has no soul.”
“What?! You-!” he exclaims, turning and looking shocked. Which quickly turns to anger, eye twitching as you feel his divine aura start to rise within him. “What the hell did you say about my Hyoka?!”
“You should watch your tone.” you reply levelly, then repeat yourself. “That body has no soul. For the Dragonballs to resurrect the body, but not the soul, can mean only one of a few different things. None of them good for you.”
“Like what? Did Karn take her soul when he killed her?” Trunks asks, fury in his eyes. His emotions are raging, nearly out-of-control at the 'loss' of this person.
“No, Karn was only in possession of two souls, when dragging your dying body from the Time Nest. Neither of which were, well, entirely mortal.” you reply, remembering the two different souls you had seen within him. The blazing inferno of rage that he calls the Berserker God, but then there was a shadow as well. A Dark, one which runs deep in this reality. “No, I fear you will like what I have to say even less. “This 'person' was never real. It was always simply a construct.”
