Lorch looked upon his brother for another moment, wondering within his mind. The simple fact that they all suffered so much that other Legions would have locked them up in stasis if they realized. If word is to be believed the Emperor’s work was not perfect, something Captain Lorch even found difficult to think. One could only wonder if the other Legions suffer as they do but keep it silent in lue of terror.
The man shook his head as he thought about things that did not concern him, “Your words have not fallen to deaf ears. I will tell our Father personally that you feel this to be the case.”
“Thank you, brother.” Admitted the Dreadnaught as the machine gave a soft hum of power.
“We will see what our Father decides.” The Acillian said as he rose from the innards of the metal coffin while wiping his metal hands, “Knights and Titans walk amongst man without issue, I do not see a reason to deny such a fate from the Dreadnaughts. If the Ritual is because those not truly capable of handling such grand Machine Spirits is the fact then the Ritual will be examined with a doctrinal lense.”
“To my knowledge, Chassis like mine were originally formed for the Custodes. The Unifier had made the decision to give us Astartes a chance to operate the machines. As I have seen Custodes Dreadnaughts walk the realm of the living without issue, I find merit in your words.”
“Indeed that is correct.” Answered Lorch as he patted his hand upon the coffin, “That information shall be granted to our Father as well.”
The Acillian looked towards the Dreadnaught with what Lorch felt was a sense of satisfaction, “Artur, you hold a greater kinship with out Father than any of us. Our flesh is not metal like yours now. He will grant you this boon.”
“That is… troubling.” The Dreadnaught said as he fell silent for a moment, “It is not in life but death that I follow in the footsteps of our Father. To operate a mass of metal just like he does with the great Titan Particep Semper. I shall endeavor to follow in his footsteps to control a far lesser Machine Spirit.”
“Even if you do not have a mouth, do you wish to join us?” Asked the Acillian as if it was normal.
“I take this opportunity gladly. The greatest pain of this coffin is not the Machine Spirit or its malevolence, but the silence.”
