Over the course of the next hour, you're slowly introduced to a handful of spirit.
First, the Master ask to see your spirits up close.
"<span class="mu-s">I need to see your spirits to avoid them fighting or absorbing the spirits I have over there...</span>
- Absorbing a spirit?
- <span class="mu-s">Not something for mere Novices to know about.</span>"
The man have clearly let something big slept. He's hiding his blunder using his authority, but you won't let that cheap trick fool you.
"<span class="mu-s">C'mon, I've already seen them in the arena after all.
...
So, something like A Silver Fighter Horse, a Galactic Spear Snake and a Gold Flame Hawk? This hawk is strange...</span>"
You don't like the glimpse of greed in the master eye, so you take back your Hawk spirit, letting the old man with a pointy white beard regain his composure.
"<span class="mu-s">Ahem, right, right. I'll show you spirit with a lower affinity. Your soul seems already stretched to the maximum so you won't accidentally bind them.
Still, the soul might try to reach them. I'll slap it back to you to avoid backlashes.</span>"
First, a Liquid Earth Hare. Then, the cutest thing you've ever seen in the form of an Obsidian Thunder-Mouse. Next is something that you felt amazing affinity for, a Poison Wood Crab. You wish you could bind with it if it wasn't, well, a Crab.
Meanwhile, cogs of your brain are running. Hare are preys of Hawks. Mouses are preys of Snake. So this relationship is not something that could draw a spirit to fight or to absorb.
Last, the master let out a Vulpine spirit. Your heart skip a bit. Is it the end? How would the Wolf Spirit react to this?
"<span class="mu-s">Are you alright? This will be the last one, I don't want to oppress you after all.</span>"
You're shaking in fear. Your Scion of Primordial Wolf spirit hunkers down in the heart aperture, in an hopeless attempt not to be drawn out by the rival intruding your soul's vicinity.
