“--funny you say that, Officer Meyers, because the M-Guard really did run like the dogs they are.” A cocky voice drawls, one that belongs to a familiar, suited-up mutant with black hair.
Ah, rats. Not this guy again, you think, frowning at the figure of Zeus that’s plastered on the screen (though you vaguely recognize that officer from… somewhere). At least Clyde’s nowhere to be found.
“If they really were as strong as they make themselves out to be, don’t you think they would’ve confronted us already? It’s clear that they’re scared of us, honestly…” When he says this, his eyes are centered on the camera in such a way that you know that’s a provocation to you and the rest of the M-Guard– one that you’ll never fall for. “Too bad they have that teleporter with them; really makes our jobs harder.”
A few people crowd around Zeus, all clamoring in to get a word from him, and then the screen goes back to the reporters who’d been running the channel.
Aside from Zeus and a few other, less-notable people spewing hot air about the Miller-Ford incident, like Matt had said, it seems like the X-Force is gunning after Maranzano next.
With you having taken down Maranzano’s strongest mutants like Gregor and Antonella, you see this upcoming fight being rather one-sided. Still, it baffles you that they’d waste all of that time and effort going all the way to New York, but if you put it in perspective the two parties are essentially fighting over the same thing, which is mutants.
