"It's understandable." You said, hoping this wouldn't morph into a therapy session. "Anyone would feel pain from losing someone close."
"No. My behavior is inexcusable. You've already done so much for us. I am simply blaming someone out of pettiness and my own guilt." Ai explained. "And out of my fear as to what you might've thought of me, considering that Ayane is now your slave-wife. And what I did to her..."
"She always speaks highly of you." You say.
"Even after what I did to her?" She repeats, wanting a clear answer.
"Yes."
"And you, John Doe?" She asks.
"I mean, if she hadn't 'lost' against you I wouldn't of had her, and she wouldn't of fallen in love with me." Probably. "This is something both she and I agree on. So yes, I don't resent you because you beat her. And, no offense to either of you, but Ayane is more my type." Ayane had much better curves than Ai, and Ayane was definitely kinder, if you didn't count your kitsune's past too.
"My sister didn't tell you about how I won, correct?" Ai said in realization.
"That is not our story to tell." Eisho added to his first slave-wife's words. "Lord Doe, take in mind no one was at fault for what happened. I would've ultimately chosen Ai."
Before you're able to ask more details something happened which makes you all do a double take.
"What?! Twelve-thousand eight hundred and forty-four?!?!" Mel's unmistakably high pitched voice exclaimed from the other room.
"Should we be concerned?" Eisho asks.
"You get used to it." You shrug.
Ai and Eisho glance at each other, a silent conversation passing between them.
This whiplash, which was thankfully much more expected, was something you got used to both from anime and from experience in this world.
"Hm." Ai seems to get a smile on her face. "Eisho, my love, with all of this talk about death, I was thinking... the time to create life will come soon for me~" She gave her Master-husband a lustful gaze.
Wait, was she being serious?
"Of course, my darling!" Eisho responded, looking like he just remembered something important. "I believe your time is coming soon." He turned to you. "John, if you'll excuse us."
"I can take a hint." Yeah, they were actually serious.
You considered how this might be their way of getting revenge for the time when you and Ayane used Eisho's house as a place to make love, basically kicking the rest of Ayane's family out. But they wouldn't be that petty. Right?
"Those two are almost as lustful as you and your fox are." Yumi commented.
"And how would you know that?" You said half-jokingly.
"Call it a ghost's intuition." She huffed.
You make a small hum. "And does this 'ghost intuition' have any idea on how Ayane lost to her sister when fighting for Eisho?"
