I like the option because we're offering a reward to encourage her to show her stuff. Which she'll clue in on quickly enough, after that is putting on a good enough show without giving up too much ourselves. Provided we "win" we don't need to give her anything, but that's okay because we'll still have planted a seed. I think the idea of incarnating a grudge to change our fighting style would do well. Fu would be the stoic grudge, and fit for her, and Xiongji would permit fooling her with a fiery fighting style entirely unlike our own.
I also think it's a good option because she was sent here to deal with us because someone higher in her sect detected either our activity or the activity of whatever the cultists are doing. Anything we can set up to encourage distance between her and her sect we can, hopefully/eventually, use against her.
And in the context of the duel we've set up, there is potential for us to fool her into just wanting more, it's like half her character weakness. Whether that more is a better battle thrill, or skin deep blood qi cultivation secrets, we can lean her along specific developments, not dropping carmine mysticism whole hog on her. I would prefer something less damaging to the world in potential; recall that the carmine mystics became terrifyingly strong and annihilated cities in order to gain strength by gaining more blood.
The ideal thing to me would be encouraging a range of potential that would make the nature of her cultivation more obvious, and therefore more likely for her sect/family to sever ties.
As well, if she's disowned she might just become stronger afterwards anyways. Being openly branded as a heretic is a free pass to no longer hold back, as we know. There's a mild risk of tempting ancient power to someone with brute smarts and it being pearls before swine, of course.
But really, what could go wrong? She learns 雨血海笛 or traps our soul with a talisman she hid on the corpse? Naaaah.
>>5459950I'm not sure where karma would place it either. A mentor can give knowledge that may be inherently violent and dangerous, and can manipulate its presentation for an evil cause, but ultimately it's Yaonan's soul making the choice of what to do with what she's given. What I'd see affecting us most would be our choice to teach for the purpose of baiting and a scheme.
She's already attacked us and our students, and though she doesn't know it she is an enemy who we (I assume thus far) intend to destroy. If she does evil to the world, and we stop that, I don't see our karma being majorly hurt for this little trick. HOWEVER, if she reignites the strengths of carmine mysticism and goes insane with bloodlust I can see Karma wagging its finger at us in disappointment while a suped up Yaonan becomes the #1 enemy of the cultivation world and cycles into becoming our responsibility to stop after they drain Fu.
So... we probably shouldn't bait Blood Qi CM to the barbarian queen, ya. But other things maybe.
