As they start to get their gear, you also focus on the Para Para bros. headed to the haunted house attraction. Jaki also contacts you, telling you, ‘I will prepare something in case this proves to be a genuine foe.’ You then sense a slow but noticeable buildup of energy where he’s hiding out. Those that can sense Ki end up noticing it too… but then he actually vanishes! Huh? A few confused looks are exchanged, but Sala and Hado are quick to ease things. “Ah jus’ our pal Jaki. Guess he got bored tryin’ to be all spooky and mysterious while we’re over her havin’ the time of our lives.”
“Oh I absolutely know the type.” Sachie remarks.
“Yeah we’ve got a few we know too.” Gohan pipes in. “But guess it’s better than pretending to be meditating while he’s actually just napping.”
https://youtu.be/Ml4wAnvfM4MThat gets a few laughs, and they all take positions. Things start off, and to your surprise Gohan’s actually playing defense for Phanty, using a big, cloudy shield to block some of Erasa’s wild swings. Hado for his part is managing to defend against Phanty’s own, and yet much more focused on trying to keep Erasa calm. Gohan even gets slightly overconfident in blocking Erasa’s swings, to the point of attempting casual conversation with Phanty… and ends up with a mostly accidental bonk in the face. He wasn’t expecting that, ends up stumbling back, falling off and into the cloud pit below. Erasa’s so shocked by that accidental victory that she completely blanks on Phantasma getting Hado with a purposeful bonk. And then following it up with one more swing, after Erasa’s last wild swing passed through her completely. That’s their first round done!
Sibella and Ikose are doing pretty well against Angela and Penn, but it looks like Sachie and Atole have something to prove, and sadly Latte and Java can’t quite match their teamwork. In the same vein, in spite of Monty putting on an impressive display, Hakka’s just barely able to use his shapeshifting to his advantage to dodge and let Cheelai block any blows he can’t avoid. Izzy though is aiming to make up for the previous losses, with her and Tapion holding their own decently well against Sala’s attacks and Zarid’s defense. Finally, Videl’s playing defense for Sharpner, managing to take hits fairly well, but Kokoro’s keeping her attacks focused and careful, and Idasa’s defense is able to keep up with her movements and Sharpner’s attacks.
