... and eventually find that Luna the wolf is here, accompained by her shy little messenger called Bark, who hides behind a rock. "Ah! There you are, wolfy!"
Daitza is surprised by the sight of the forest spirit. “Hey, that’s the same talking wolf who bailed us out at the cave! So she’s the…”
“Yep. She’s the forest spirit that saved our butts so many times.”
“Hyenus, Daitza, my children...” The wolf stands up and greets you with her warm, motherly voice, “I was looking forward to our reencounter. My heart is warmed and filled with joy to meet you again!”
"And we’re glad you came back to life after... you know. After what that meathead did to you."
"My husband is nothing but a dumb savage, Luna. I’m so sorry...”
Luna shakes her head, shutting her eyes tight. "Remind me not of that awful incident, please. Some things are better left forgotten…” She opens them and meets your gazes. “I hope the task of finding me did not prove too difficult, young ones. While I had planned to appear closer to you, the aura exuded by that fortress of cold stone interferes with the scope of my powers."
"Don’t worry!” says Daitza with a carefree tone. “We caught your scent and followed it all the way here. It was easy as boar!"
The forest spirit smiles at her words. "Ah, that is wonderful! Only a gnoll in perfect touch with their instincts may use their keen sense of smell to its full potential. Know that you make your old goddess proud, warriors of the woods..."
Actually, it was Daitza who spotted Luna’s scent, not you. You just followed her lead, as the wolf’s smell barely reached your nose. Oh, well. Such a minor thing doesn't deserve a correction.
