You took one look at the Raticate's prisoner and knew what to do. With little hesitation, you backed up and thrust a kick towards the rat!
As you did so, you put in that same concentration from before, while fighting the Rattata earlier... and pulled off a clean Pound on the rat's-
-cheek.
You missed its mouth, but still managed to get that general area.
As your kick hit the opponent, you heard a squeak from behind you and to your right. But before you could make it out you felt yourself falling- and realized that you'd never landed a kick before.
A stumble and a thud followed as you tripped and fell upon hitting the dirt. It didn't take too long to get up again, but now you had a sore behind...
"Indie!! You-"
Erna rushed over and pushed you back a bit. "That was super cool, but you shouldn't be-"
Before she could finish, the rat lashed its tail in Erna's direction, sweeping her away from you and knocking her over. Once she was on the ground the tail pressed against her chest, keeping her grounded while the rat refocused its attention on you.
The vitriol in its expression couldn't even be put into words. Its glare was intense, unsettling- the only thing it could be described as is an outright Leer. Eugh.
"I-Indie, get Dennis o-" Erna tried to call over to you, only for the rat to smack her sideways.
Your heart began to race somewhat. Sheesh, Erna'd hardly been hurt by every other battle so far. Yet she'd hardly landed a hit in this one! And your kick didn't even seem to do much- the most you could see through that leer was a small bruise.
It was beginning to dawn on you that this fight was somewhat out of your league... but is that going to stop you?
>Yes!! You can't fight this thing! Go free Erna and get out of here. Getting some help from the village might make it easier.
>Yes, but maybe that doesn't matter. Talk to Dennis.
>No! Keep on fighting, even without Erna!
>No! Free your partner and keep on fighting!
