"So that means there can be cuttlefish or nautilus krakens?" Was Mel's second question.
"In theory." Ruby replied.
"That's one hell of a squid, guv." Cattleya meowed with a shine to her eyes, looking at the defeated enemy. "It'll make for a roight tasty meal or trophy, innit?" She chuckled "Saw the whole bloody battle, Master. Remind us never to piss you off, eh?" Another chuckle, though her voice held a clear respect for you.
And so the conversations went. You spoke to them, answering their questions and even doing some banter with them. But this was interrupted by a certain ghostly girl.
Flying from out of your pocket, Yumi looked around and asked what all the fuss was about. Before she could get a reply she squinted at the now dead squid, phased through it, then came back out to face you.
"As I suspected," Began the ghost girl "Within the abyssal maw of the tentacled terror lies a hoard of treasures shimmering with arcane artifacts of forgotten powers." She posed dramatically.
"You've been pretty quiet the whole time we were down there, you know." You ignored what she revealed and focused on Yumi's silence for the duration of your battle. You quietly recalled how she was part of one of the contingency plans that could get you out if you got stranded underwater.
"Hmph!" Yumi turned away, her arms crossed "Don't accuse me of anything. I merely sought to let you focus in the heat of battle. It's not as if the floor of an ocean's depth harbor any dread for me!"
"You didn't seem to have any trouble with oceans before." You noted.
"Why would I? I can freely levitate to my hearts content." She replied.
Knowing what you knew, you assumed this meant she was afraid of getting stuck in a capturing crystal and thrown in the ocean to be forgotten forever. You were surprised that she even agreed to accompany you in the crystal wand to begin with.
"I'm surprised you wanted to come with." You voiced your thoughts.
"That's because you might've gotten stuck down there if you couldn't turn incorporeal... dummy..." Yumi muttered in a softer voice, turning away again. A soft blue blush graced her face.
"There is treasure inside?" Ayane brought attention to the subject before any further digressions. Yumi confirmed it with a nod.
After getting help from your less squeamish wives, you were able to recover a few things: Artifacts, weapons, and even an old treasure chest (which contained some gold in it).
[Gained 500g]
The artifacts weren't anything special, being a few items that increased attack and defense, though there was an interesting blunderbuss with a strange enchantment that wasn't fully functional for some reason.
But that wasn't all. The attacks you did on it made it's ink main sack come loose, allowing you to easily separate it from its body, keeping the ink mostly intact. And with that you obtained a rare Kraken Ink Sack.
