“L-Ladies, I’m no one’s servant. I don’t work for anyone.” You don’t give them the choice to think there’s a way to buy your, uh, companionship? “If you want us to be friends, you have to ask.” You’ll be nice.
“Friendship? How’s that enough? You two won’t spend as much time with me as I desire.” Eloise doesn’t see this as a solution. “And that’s if you decide to stick around...”
“That’s right! A well-paid contract will ensure your time and loyalty.” Phoebe agrees with her not-friend. “I’ll have enough leeway to convince you to stay with me. You’ll see my great qualities… You’ll have no other option… My family has an outstanding retention rate!”
“Heh, mine’s better than yours.” Eloise is really confident about this.
“You wish!” Phoebe smirks back. “In short, the conundrum is that as friends we’re not entitled to your time…”
“But as your bosses…” Eloise grins.
Yu Yan immediately starts water spraying the bad thoughts away from these nasty snobs! She had a bottle under the seat!
“Bad! Bad! BAD!” Yu Yan shouts. “This is the same thinking pattern I warned you about!”
“D-Don’t humiliate me like this!” Phoebe gets angry.
“I-I have appearances to keep! Gah!” Eliose hates this too.
“Then behave yourselves!” Yu Yan crosses her arms.
“B-But we’re taking you home, BF, I have no insurance you’ll talk to me again! Or Johnny for that matter!” Phoebe points out that this could be the end of their friendship.
“What’s the big deal, BF? You’ll earn money…” Eloise wants that damn contract signed!
“True friendship isn’t built around cash, you silly gooses. I’m sorry if I sound like an elementary school cartoon, but you girls clearly didn’t learn this basic life lesson.” Yu Yan sighs.
“Like I said I wouldn’t mind being friends, girls.” You remind these silly gooses. “There’s no need for any type of payment. We’re not under contract, and we’re not interested in signing one.”
“All you gotta do is trust us. Pretty simple, right?” Yu Yan smirks. “Let’s build some trust, we’ll share our numbers with you at the end of the ride. This is a promise.”
“…Fine.” Eloise relents first.
“Huh… If it has to be this way.” Phoebe goes along.
