>>5702299“W-what….w-what is…” Berdly stammers falling on his behind, his shaky legs unable to hold his weight. The cold dull bronze beneath him was a similar temperature to his blood as he felt his heart stop in his chest.
This wasn’t possible, this isn’t real.
Catti stares at the abomination her mouth dry, she had heard of creatures like this, she watched movies about such horror for fun all the time. But to see something akin to the thing in front of her pulsating, shifting, screaming. It wasn’t a costume, or special effects, she could hear it’s heavy breathing, smell the musty stench of sea salt, this was a real monster. It made her realize that not being able to move due to your own fear is a very real thing.
Thistle says nothing and stares, his brain stopping at the sight. Before he screams, and takes a step back. His demeanor shaken at the impossible transformation.
The fish tilts her head at this. A throaty, husky chuckle left the imposter, it sounded as if her throat was filled with gravel.
“Punks…..” She lisps out seemingly indifferent to her transformation. All three are frozen in fear. This whole situation was odd and paranormal but to see a seemingly familiar face mauled and twisted in such a way…it made them sick to their stomachs.
Thistle takes in deep gasping breaths and within a few moments his heart evens out once more. It’s okay, he is okay, they are okay. H-he just has to think of a way to approach this, this is going to be a battle. A battle against the monster.
“Guys, we’re..getting out of this. Alright?” Thistle declares. But his voice cracks.
His other friends still seem to be processing the situation. He’d be lying if what he felt was bravery it was like instinct, to know that it’s you or them. He’s scared they all are, who wouldn’t be? He can get out of this he just has to think.
The imposter reels its engorged arm back. Thistle’s heart drums in his chest, as he faces the beast.
What shall you do this turn?
