You signal at Delta to slowly back away from the talking light thing, whatever it actually is. He gets the hint and backs up a few feet with you. Yeah, you're not rushing in head first, you might as well see how it ticks.
But first, you should contact with your other teammates. As quickly and quietly as you can, you finesse your radio out of one of the many pockets on your outfit.
You flinch when the radio crackles with life. Quickly covering it with your uniform's sleeve, you adjust one of the knobs to adjust the volume to be quiet enough for the anomaly not to hear you, but loud enough for you to be able to hear it.
"Gamma?" A tomboyish voice rings out from the radio. Shit, not the Ranger, please. "Wrong frequency again? Damn, you're a dumbass."
"shut up" You wish you could yell but you quickly adjust the frequency to the one you actually need to be at. A soft, gentle voice crackles through it. Good, Null, she would know.
"Yes, Gamma? What's the matter?"
"Yeah, uh, we just found an anomaly. Huge glowing ball, seems occupied by something, able to talk. All I know about it is it responses to some sort of light. Got any advice on how we should, uh, deal with it?"
"Light, huh? Do you have your flashlights off?"
"Correct."
"How far away are you from it?"
"Couple feet or so. Probably around five to ten. Why?"
"Hm. I wonder why it hasn't attacked you then. You should be clear enough for it to hear or see you. <span class="mu-b">If I had to guess, whatever it's doing in that building is keeping it distracted.</span>"
You look over at the building, curious to see if Null is right. As you stare into the light, you see that over time, it pulses and flickers sporadically, as if it was breathing heavily. You can see Delta's eyes going glassy as he stares at it with you.

"The light keeps flickering and sending out pulses but yeah, it's not moving." You doubt it's asleep (can it sleep? does asun it need to?) but it is weird how...inactive it is.
"If it moves from that building, I would recommend checking the interior out. Maybe that'll give you a hint on how to capture it."
"Right. Before we sign off, you think it might be religious in any way? Said something about 'mask your light, quiet your head'. Sounded like soul shit."
Null hums, almost impressed that you thought of that, in a condescending sort of way. "Well, didn't expect you to think about it that much. Maybe. If it is, <span class="mu-b">maybe try talking to it on its level.</span>"
Right. You give your stock goodbyes before tuning the radio off. Not all that much advice but still better to work on than anything. You decide to go back to looking it to see what else you can gleam about this thing.
