The drenching of the mist and fog ended- Major Sanen Yule looked into the fading mists, and ill liked what he saw- the thundering and rumbling from afar was nothing compared to the Twaryians and Revolutionaries that were right there.
Yet- Lieutenant Lutzow-Spelinger had pushed straight up the flank. For now, there was little in the way of what remained of the Battalion in its primary mass. There was plenty of hope to be able to get out…as long as they could outfight the enemy that was now in their midst- both enemy and friend seemed just as confused at each other’s appearance- as well as, perhaps, where they had found themselves.
Somehow, Lieutenant Ferrari had driven straight through a geological formation. Yule didn’t question how. The officer didn’t know either- claiming that they had simply driven through the mist as fast as they could.
Radio communications had been out while the fog had descended- now they were back. Yule wasted no time in outlining the tactical situation- there was no positive spin to put on things besides that escape was possible. The enemy had closed in now- and more were surely just about to arrive. The northern contingent had escaped- their radio signal was patchy at best, and it wasn’t certain anything was even transmitting. Some absolutely awful transmission was blocking off anything coming from further east than Lieutenant Krogh- a warbling, screeching wail that drowned them out but nobody else. There wasn’t time to worry about that, or them- just like everybody else, they’d have to fight their way out, and nobody could be asked to wait around or go back now.
