Moreno: The rest of the Securitrons are deployed, though I imagine the dust clouds they’ve put up have alerted the tangos in Nipton. The “bear cubs” ready to roll? This whole thing’s hinging on them.
Johnson: We both know how good the NCR special forces can be, and I only imagine they’ve gotten better with time. They’ll carry out their end of the bargain.
Moreno: Wish you could join them, Johnny? Maybe you can service them after they fuck up the mission, eh?
You grip the edges of the counter you’re leaning over. Their bickering has been going on for the better part of an hour and the focus you had is just about gone.
[And yet neither of you are out there, so how about you show some respect to them, Moreno? And yes, they’ve just breached the perimeter and are moving to their primary targets. The encirclement by the Securitrons are complete and small arms fire is being traded between the two.]
Johnson: Is ehh, what’s his name, Patton? Is Patton out there with them?
You check the map, having marked Patton with a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap.
[Aye, he’s over with the bulk of the force just beyond the Nipton Pit Stop. He’s relaying information back to Courier Six.]
Moreno: I bet he’s kicking himself for missing this, it ain’t a real party until he shows up!
You can’t help but agree with him. It’s not an ideal situation but being head of state means delegation and the Courier can’t be everywhere at once. A small light in the distance draws your attention out through the smashed windows.
[That’s the flare, it seems like they’re going loud.]
Moreno: I knew they couldn’t keep from fucking it up.
