The stark contrast in the tone and modulation of Rita’s voices is enough to leave even Ms. Newborn disoriented. A singer herself, Lucinda knows how much training is required to pull off that kind of change, which is the reason voice actors are so respected within the acting community. But she looks. And wow, what is she looking at? Floating over the abyss is the unwanted son of a glass dome and a circus, the red and white striped pattern enveloping its skeletal frame broken by so many others, supported only by a million balloons of many shapes but none they recognize. The two biggest, biggest by far, each big as the dome itself, float over all of the others. This time, both Rita and Lucinda can tell what they look like: eyes.
Not to seem like an idiot, Lucinda decides not to mention that the Witch is there, which seems obvious. Rita, however, knows anyway, so she’s flashed with a glare from the blonde even though there was nothing she could do about it.

The same monotone voice, but this time the other Rita is pointing behind them. A massive milkshake is heading their way, big like a room, and it’s being transported by many Familiars, some of which slip and fall and are trampled and then replaced by others. Lucinda and Rita simply stand by in dumb-folded silence as it stops by the guards and each of the Familiars hand their cards one by one.

Lucinda limits herself to simply scoffing at the very, very armored girl next to her. Reading the mind of others is comforting. Having yours read? Not so much.
