>>5313975More along the lines that I want to engineer situations where the Astartes start to see the benefits of faith and gain legitimate reasons to believe.
Like in the Plague Trilogy, where even the Primaris Marines and Roboute were shocked by the power displayed by Mathieu and his followers, who were able to survive all the way to help them destroy Nurgle's Cauldron. Roboute thought the saints were just unknown psykers at first, but then after Mathieu brought an entire War Train of fanatical followers to the very Cauldron of Nurlge and defeated Kug'ath, and Mathieu became a saint himself, he starts to question his own beliefs and picks up the book of Lorgar for the first time.
Maybe not in duels but perhaps in the upcoming war, if the Acillians can show that through faith they gain the blessings of our God and Machine Spirits to excell even where the Astartes should normally be better at. Just like UZ1 showed through her faith she was able to push her prosthetic to work better than TESLA's. Because the Machine Spirit responded to her.
And there's machine spirits in everything. From armor, to blades, to even the black carapace on a soldiers body.
Does that make sense?
Lorgar was able to genuinely convince at least some of his terran sons to believe, I was thinking on ways Talos would do the same.
If this still doesn't make sense lemme know or if there's questions for any other parts of that.
