>>5348923“By the way,” You start again, suddenly remembering something important. “Have you heard of the Fraternity of the Atom?”
“Can’t say that I have.” The Healer responds amid jotting down Eddie’s new PT routine.
“They’re relatively new, but they’re kind of like the Crux, except they seem more… aggressive, in a way.” The Crux, on the other hand, had been far more calculated in nature.
“So far, they’ve stuck to killing cops and whatnot, but they seem to be getting bolder. So keep an eye out if you see them or any mutants who travel in packs.”
“Alright.” There’s a tincture of worry in the Healer’s voice. “W-Will do!”
Reaching into Valjean’s backpack, you procure the small wad of bills you brought along, holding them out to the Healer. “Consider this your down-payment.”
“M-M-M-Money!” She sounds like a dog drooling over a piece of bacon, swiping it from your hands with the speed of a fox. “T-Thank you!”
“No problem.” You respond. “There’s more where that came from when the job’s done.” The Healer's body language tells you that she's died and gone to heaven... well, at least mentally she's there.
As well as a brand-new rehab regimen for Eddie, you get everyone’s contact information from Boleski’s to the Healer’s, both of which you assume are burner phones. As you’re walking out of the building, you see a gangly mass of lab-coat and limbs curled up in the corner, an empty flask laying at the side of it.
“’Hic–’ Shee you soon, guysh!” Shaw waves, glasses lying half-crooked on his face as he laughs giddily from his spot on the floor. That’s one way to have a change-of-heart, you think, as you leave the decrepit pharmacy behind.
