>>5231728“We just had new quests added this morning, so there should be something to suit your talents.” she replies, you nearing the city walls. And knowing the magical defenses, you slow down and begin to start your landing descent outside the walls by the opened gate. “Good luck, Dragonslayer.”
“Thanks.” you reply, then ending the mental connection speak to Megumin. “Luna says we'll have a bunch of quests to choose from, want to head there first?”
“You can go on ahead, I'll go visit with Wiz and Vanir first and see how much your prototypes made.” she replies. “If you need me for a quest, let me know.”
“Will do.” you say, kissing your wife then the two of you split up. She heads towards the small shop run by the undead lich Wiz and her fellow demon Vanir, both former members of the Demon King's Army. Despite being a demon and undead, they seemingly have a good working relationship with Megumin's father. Wiz, as you'd discovered, is actually your father-in-law's biggest customer. She buys even his more useless magical devices, some of which are so bad you could call them cursed items. You have no idea why, or who she's selling such devices to, but that's not something you're worried with. You're here for the quest board in the Adventurer's Guild, and making your way through the busy streets you're there within a minute. There is a small crowd outside, several people gathered around a figure wearing heavy-seeming metal armor, and wielding a sword absolutely radiating with magical energy.
“Amateur.” you mutter, walking past the boastful blond youth and heading inside. You open the door, bell ringing rustically as you step into the dimly-lit interior. You see several adventurers sitting at the gathered tables, some eating and others drinking, but nobody's there at the board. And all conversation stops, more than a dozen heads all turning to see who's walking in. And seeing you, they all seem to relax and go back to their meals, drinks, and conversations. You give a friendly wave to the receptionist, then walk to the board and inspect the quests hanging on it. There are the usual monster extermination quests, lost people, but one in particular catches your attention. It says that there is a powerful ghost haunting the old, abandoned church near the mountainside. Apparently the ghost is of a former cleric to a deity of revenge and manipulation, and has proven too powerful for anyone of the clergy to defeat.
“Should be easy enough,” you think to yourself, then looking at the reward for the quest feel your jaw drop. This has to be a mistake, there's absolutely no way a simple ghost exorcism is offering a reward more than ten times that of defeating a Manticore that's been spotted in the area. This has to be wrong. So you do your due diligence, taking this quest off the board to show the typo to Luna.
