>>5360529And then it hits. Hard. The Pariah effect. I do not know if our Blackstone has yet tried to achieve this as the Necron Pylons have, but the very act of living becomes a manual chore. People need to think hard to eat, to breathe, to not give into apathy and despair, the "soul death". It is a battle of willpower, not of will against will, but of struggling to maintain onto the very essence of willpower itself. At greater strength, in proximity to the pylons, even space marines struggle and must exert themselves.
Of course, unaffected, are those to whom the soul is not an essential item. The Automaton (or the Necron), the Servitor who relies upon programmed orders into the brain. I would like to imagine that our Skitarii and Acillians would do well, as in the absence of personal willpower and initiative, mechanical orders can take over. Perhaps they are not as smart, quick witted, or passionate as they might have been, but to rely upon the blessed Noospheric orders implanted straight into their brain. "Do not think, do not feel, obey the Doctrina Imperative and fight". They follow their internal cogitators and weapons targeting systems, find strength and comfort in the cold purpose of the machine and Reliance upon the Machine Gods will rather than themselves.
Or at least, it would be cool if that is feasible.
And our nulls meanwhile, don't notice a thing at all. They had no soul connection to the warp, and simply carry on. If anything, like Aleya in 40k, they feel a kindred bond with the blackstone. Exactly like a psyker would feel when next to a psychic crystal, strength and envigorment.
