Small zeppelins were imported from the imperial capital and were soon being produced in a large factory in Din Eydin. Within two years, the capital of Din Eydin is connected aerially to Dun-Tirbolg, Caer Daunar, Horon, Drowstone, and even Dinas Emyrian and Waste Watch to the north. Profits were increasing and the economy appeared to be shifting in a positive direction.
However, worrisome news arrived. The Trimeterrling Kingdoms had refused to pay any more reparations, and rumors of armed militias and brutal infighting had emerged. Radical powers were rising, for now consumed by internal conflict. The Concord of nations, known as Gobli-Ekke, boasts an armed force of over 10 million soldiers who “are ready to die for their country at any given moment” while further conquering the Great Piu-Piu dynasty. Their naval, thopter, battle-zeppelin, and nautiloid strike forces had experienced significant expansion. Troubling reports continue to come in.
Additionally, the current peninsular governor is set to retire within a year. There are several contenders for the throne, but there are credible rumors that "Old Brass" is considering you for his successor due to your zeppelin ideas and successful management of storage. While there may be animosity from defeated contenders, becoming the Tir-Ohannua Governor would grant you a colonial palace with over 250 servants, full control of the native population, infrastructure, economy (including the flow of wealth through Din Eydin), and military forces such as the local fleet, army, and thopter regiments. It is a position of great responsibility, but also one with numerous benefits.
Meanwhile, Anna had given birth to your fourth child, a lovely little girl named Eustacia. Your family continues to live happily in a small manor assigned to the Port Supply Manager.
While things are heating up near the imperial seat of power, you and your family are fortunately far from it. The prospect of another major war is something you wish to avoid. The Gobli-Ekke are of little concern, as the imperial might far surpasses theirs. However, the successor to the old governor is a serious matter. You keep an eye on your competition and admit that none of them are lacking, but you believe you have the broadest perspective on things.
It might be the time to consider getting another dog, naming it, and further upgrading the peninsula's economy. Perhaps you could even get involved in the selection of the next Tir Ohanna Governor. At 42 years old, you have many avenues to explore. Which ons you do?
