You say you'll be the Janitorial class. While you parse through the character creation you ask Seshat if she has taller sister who doesn't wear glasses, as you ran into a look-a-like while coming down to visit.
"O-oh... You probably met the other Seshat." the bookish goddess says, getting slightly quieter.
You ask how that works, and if they are somehow related.
"Well, we are both Seshat. We're each an aspect of the myth." She says, trying to explain.
Still confused, you ask if she's some sort of alternate dimension version or something.
"I suppose you could think of it in that way, though there isn't really another dimension she or I came from. It's more she's from another telling or story. Oh, how do I explain this..." She says, pausing and tapping her pencil in thought. "For instance, both I and the Digital Archive's Seshat are the Egyptian Goddess of writing, wisdom, and knowledge. She however is the consort to Thoth, while I am Thoth's daughter."
You say that must be weird, having your father be with another version of yourself.
"Aha, it's not like that! It's two different Thoths." She says waving her arms, "My father is much more Ibis than the other Seshat's Thoth. He looks more like a man wearing a Ibis mask."
To you that seems confusing.
"It's something all named fairies have to worry about." She says with a slightly sad smile. "At least my stories aren't as... Controversial as some others. You should see what the Olympians have to deal with.
Tamako wanders over, looking curiously over to all the books and paper you and the goddess are working on. She asks, "What're you guys doing? What is this game anyway?"
"It's called Cubicles & Coworkers. It's super fun, it's about human's work life in an office." Seshat explains excitedly.
"Is that interesting? All the characters in anime seem to try and avoid work." Your daughter says, looking at all the words in the open rule book.
"Well of course! Don't you wonder how humans go about running their world? They don't have glamour like we do, so they have to come up with all sorts of fascinating, completely mundane ways to do it." The archivist explains, pushing up her glasses. "This game simulates that using these rules and some dice."
"Dice? So it's like, gambling?" Tamako questions.
"No. Well, in a way it is. It's probability, though with much better odds at something fun happening." Seshat says with a chuckle.
"Simulates how humans run the world, huh?" Tamako says, mulling over the goddess' words as she stares at your character sheet. "Can I play?"
The pair talk for a second, and eventually she decides to just be Janitorial like you.
