“I love Arthas, I really do. He can be very funny, really sweet and caring. Someone whom I can hug after a bad day and feel safe and secure. I know he loves me too and… we had plans. Publicly move together, get betrothed during the winter. Wedding probably next summer and then the… royal duties.” Jaina told you, she meant children and continued. “But now I am not so sure, how could I live with the man I love, if he can't even speak to me?”
You could only listen as you gently rubbed her hands.
“Malevus, I gave him an ultimatum. If he can't speak to me about these things, hard things. Then there is no point in any of those plans.” Jaina said.
“Jaina, you…”
“He couldn't answer, just stood there before walking away.” Jaina replied. “He walked away.”
You felt really sorry for Jaina. You didn't like Arthas at all, but to see Jaina suffer made you sad as well.
She stood up and holding your hands pulled you up.
“We haven't met that often, but even a blind man can see how much you love Alric.” She said and gripped your hands more strongly. “And I will do my utmost to make sure he is freed tonight. I am not allowing you to lose your man, like I have most likely lost mine.”
There was strength and determination in her voice. Outside down in the City a rocket flew high up in the rainy sky and blew up into thousands of shiny sparkles. Fireworks? Nalice had told you that VanCleef had some flair for drama.
“Shall we go save your Alric?” Jaina asked and her eyes shed the sadness.
