This Solomon Kane must’ve been an impressive person if Khonshu was complimenting him. Your opinion of him had just shot up by a couple dozen degrees. But the way Khonshu spoke about him as if he was no longer here…you had to assume that the creature standing before you was a revenant or a zombie of some sort.
“His staff is missing, but I can sense his presence buried deep in his subconscious.”
Much like Garth, Solomon didn’t react at all to being mentioned in a conversation. He just kept blankly staring ahead.
“The Harpy on the right is Elizabeth Ross, self-proclaimed Bandit Queen of the Land Above.” Ward continued.
The bird-woman’s head slowly turned to regard the snooty Nosferatu. And while she didn’t scowl, you could see her coming to some sort of conclusion about him in her head. Like she kept a mental tally of anyone and everyone who slighted her.
Her blood-red eyes slowly crawled their way back to you, and for a moment, you couldn’t help but feel like a small rodent staring down the beak of a bird of prey. Because that was undoubtedly what she was. Even if she didn’t really have a beak.
No…instead, she had a mouth full of teeth that looked sharp enough to easily tear flesh. Her wingspan and height were also, if not equally intimidating. Even with her knees bent and the heel of her massive chicken feet hovering above the floor, she was still taller than the other two warriors standing beside her. Her wings/arms were still folded around her so as to give the others room, but you were able to spot the glint of her golden talon sheathes, resting just below her chest.
She seemed to notice you looking, but just kept on giving you a wide-eyed stare that told you exactly how afraid she was of you. Which was to say, not at all. You didn’t know whether to be grateful or offended. A glance at Young told you that she wasn’t too pleased with the Harpy’s presence here. You filed that information away for later.
“I sense an unusually high amount of Gamma radiation from that one. Best to treat her like a wild beast, and put her down should she turn on you.”
A Gamma Beast, then. Good to know. You wondered if Ana knew what she was, or if she was staring at the Harpy for entirely different reasons.
But for the second time since you met her, you were grateful for Ana's obsessive behavior, because it gave the Harpy something else to stare at other than you.
Young’s concern seemed to deepen with the two of these women sizing each other up. At this rate, Ana might just pick a fight with everyone in this room.
“And in the middle there we have, erm…” Ward began, but confusion clouded his face when he went to introduce the one in the middle. The one that was gushing negative energy like a busted fire hydrant. You were most curious about them. And from the looks of it, Ward didn't look so sure himself.
“I’m sorry, who-”
“Dear brother.”
